Washing printed T-shirts: 6 tips
It is important to print T-shirts of the right quality. We therefore pay extra attention to the quality of the material in combination with the print. Do you want the print on your clothes to remain visible for an extra long time? Then it is wise to wash your T-shirts carefully. Prepare well and use the following tips:
1. Wash printed T-shirts at a maximum of 40 degrees
We recommend washing your clothes at 30 degrees, but absolutely no warmer than 40 degrees. The higher the temperature at which you wash the shirt, the faster it will shrink or the print will fade.
2. Always wash T-shirts inside out
By washing the shirt inside out, the print will last longer. This way you protect the print against hooks or zippers of other clothing and the roughness of the washing drum. The print will then fade sooner. It is therefore wise to always wash good clothes inside out.
3. Wash T-shirts color by color
By sorting your clothes by color and only washing with the same colors, you keep your clothes looking good for longer. Sort your laundry into colored (colored) laundry, light laundry and dark laundry. Never wash colored T-shirts together with white T-shirts!
4. Do not put clothes in the dryer
As tempting as it may seem, don’t tumble dry your T-shirts after washing! This can cause the print to deform and shrink. Let T-shirts with print dry on a drying rack that you place indoors or outdoors. In any case, do not place the rack in direct sunlight to prevent discoloration.
5. Choose a good detergent
When washing T-shirts with print, avoid detergents with aggressive substances such as bleach. These can affect the printing in the washing machine. Choose a soft, liquid detergent. A fabric softener is not necessary!
6. Iron printed shirts inside out
We recommend not ironing the print directly. Choose to place the shirt inside out on the ironing board. Set the iron to a low setting. Use the iron to smooth out the T-shirt, avoiding the print as much as possible.
